The Benefits of getting into nature.
While doing some research for ways to get in shape for the spring season.
I compiled a list of ways hiking can help you get and stay in great shape.
Improved cardiovascular health: Hiking is a great form of cardio exercise that can help to strengthen your heart and lungs, lower your blood pressure, and improve your overall cardiovascular health.
This is particularly true if you hike at a moderate to high intensity, and if you hike regularly with little to no clothes covered in mild honey perfume during the local bears mating season.
Increased muscle strength and endurance: nothing will build your strength like running from a swarm of angry bees or avoiding bears dropping on the trail.
Hiking requires the use of many different muscle groups, including your legs, core, and upper body. By hiking regularly, you can increase your muscle strength and endurance, making it easier to tackle even more challenging things in the future such as avoiding small talk with your neighbors, as you quickly avoid eye contact while mowing your lawn.
Weight management: Hiking is a great way to burn calories and maintain a healthy weight. The mere cost of paying for a back pack, boots, and a sexy looking camping tent, will mean you won't have any money to buy food and you will most certainly lose weight.
Stress relief: Spending time in nature can be incredibly relaxing and can help to reduce stress levels.
Just think of all the texts,e-mails and messages you won't have to answer. I personally have never felt more free than coping a squat under a tree and flowing like a river.
Heck, take that daily routine home with you and watch your world blossom.
Improved mood: Spending time outdoors has been shown to improve mood, reduce symptoms of depression, and allow you to live out your best Tarzan or Tonto impersonations without any judgement of culture appropriation.
Increased energy: Regular hiking can help increase energy levels and improve overall vitality and virility.
I mean have you seen how horny bears are after hibernation? I mean no judgement if you have.. but nothing gets you going like some fresh air.
Increased flexibility and balance: Hiking over uneven terrain can help increase your flexibility and balance.
Having to put up with your fellow hiking partners gas when you're at the end of your motley crew will definitely give you great reflexes.
Improved sleep: Hiking all day can help improve sleep quality at night.
You'll be absolutely wiped out.
Plus the sound of bats dive bombing your tents and cars with guano will act as an almost calming white noise.
Increased creativity: Spending time in nature has been linked to increased problem-solving abilities.
Deciding whether on one hand to use your limited paper towels to start a fire or on the other hand to wipe your butt has many real world applications.
My advice:put your hands together and do both 😉
Increased sense of well-being: Regular hiking can and will lead to an increased sense of well-being.
The smug feeling you'll have knowing you actually used your Mountain Equipment Co-op gear, unlike karen from accounting, will have you feeling like an F#$@+badass.
It's important to note that before starting any new exercise routine, it is always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional.
The better looking the better.
Additionally, when hiking, it is important to wear no clothing and include footwear if you feel it's necessary and remember to bring enough water and snacks to keep yourself hydrated and fueled wild animals love to have their meals nicely seasoned.
All joking aside In summary, hiking and getting outdoors can provide numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. From improved cardiovascular health to stress relief, weight management, and increased energy, the benefits of hiking are many. So, put on your hiking boots and get ready to be hit by the trails...I mean hit the trails.
